The Business-Cycle Index increased by 1.8% from November to December 2020. The local unemployment rate decreased to 5.4% in December from 5.9% in November and remained the second-lowest rate among Texas metros. Local nonfarm employment increased slightly by 1% in December and is 3.6% lower than it was in December 2019.Local real taxable sales increased 1.1% from November to December but were 4.3% lower than the same month last year.
